We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Early Detection and Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Annual and Semi Annual health plans are individualized for our patients, because not all pets have the same needs. Our annual and semi annual health plans are designed specifically for your pet based on age, breed, weight, lifestyle and travel habits as well as genetic predisposition to disease.
All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing.
All of our routine surgeries receive a full examination, laboratory tests prior to anesthetic, pain medication during and after the procedure (even after going home), a nail trim, close monitoring during and after the procedure and a follow-up examination in 10-14 days for no additional charge. We do this because it is what your pet needs to have a safe and comfortable surgical experience. We do not feel that these things that make the procedure safer and more humane are optional.
Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet’s teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasonic scaling to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity.
Over 80% of pets older than 7 years old have dental disease. Appropriate prevention and treatment of this dental disease has a huge impact on the length and quality of your pet’s life. Our licensed technicians are specially trained to clean your pet’s teeth while they are anesthetized with sevoflurane gas anesthetic and monitored closely throughout and after the procedure. Most of the time, these procedures are same day surgeries and your pet can go home that evening
To keep your pet’s teeth clean and healthy, we have special diets, toothbrushes/toothpaste, and treats that clean their teeth and freshen their breath.
Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.
Our complete pharmacy allows you to immediately receive the medications that your pet needs at competitive pricing. We research and track all of the medications to provide your pet with the best.
If your pet is difficult to medicate, we offer some compounding services. Some medications can be converted into liquid and flavored in a manner that will make the medication more appealing to your pet. When we do not have a medication your pet needs, we will either order if for you or provide a written prescription.
We also provide a mail delivery service if you find it difficult to come in for refills of routine medications like heartworm prevention. Purchasing your medications from us not only is convenient and easy; it also allows you to take advantage of manufacturer rebates and guarantees. It also keeps the pet’s medical records up-to-date and ensures that you will be contacted quickly if there is ever any problem with a medication.
Incorporating pain management into the veterinary practice helps everyone. It benefits the patient through improved quality of life and reduced complications. It benefits clients through enhancement of the human–animal bond.
It benefits the health care team through increased safety; improved morale, pride, and job satisfaction; and a less stressful environment. Contemporary approaches to pain management enable veterinarians to more effectively fulfill their responsibility to relieve animal suffering as pledged in the veterinarian’s oath.
Currently we use Idexx laboratory equipment to assist in the evaluation of your pet. We offer a wide variety of tests so that we can provide results quickly and start providing medical attention your pet may need. When we are unable to perform the test in house, we send the samples to Idexx Laboratory and usually have the results by the next day. Tests we commonly run in house include CBC, chemistry panels, electrolyte analysis, urinalysis, fecal checks, heartworm tests, cytology, and tests for common viral or tick borne diseases.
