Veterinarians

Dr. Patricia Lucia
DVM

Patricia Lucia

Dr. Lucia obtained her PHD from Harvard University in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics in 1990. She then went on to Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine and obtained her DVM license in 1994. Dr. Lucia has been with Stack Hospital for Pets since 1994. Dr. Lucia has been a co-owner of Stack Hospital for Pets since 1998. She currently resides in Fabius, NY with her husband and two sons, along with her 5 cats, and 4 dogs.

Dr. Marcia Ziegler-Alexander
DVM

Marcia Ziegler-Alexander

Dr. Ziegler has been in Syracuse her entire life, she graduated from Jamesville- Dewitt Highschool and during her highschool education she worked at Stack Hospital for Pets as a kennel attendant.

She graduated from Cornell University with a bachelors of Science in 1991. Dr. Ziegler then went on and graduated from Atlantic Veterinary College at Prince Edward Island Canada where she graduated second in her class.

Dr. Ziegler has co-owned Stack Hospital for Pets with her business partner, Dr. Patricia Lucia since 1998. She currently resides in Pompey with her husband, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 4 goats, 20 birds, fish and a turtle. Her passion for animals is not only professional but at the root of everything she does.

Dr. Ziegler was honored by Excellence in Healthcare by Bankers Health Care Group as CNY's 2017 Veterinarian of the year.

Dr. Cameron Carter
DVM

Cameron  Carter

Dr. Carter was born and raised in South Onondaga, New York, where he attended South Onondaga Central High school.  He has spent time working as an assistant in several Veterinary Clinics in the area, but spent the most of his time at The Lafayette Veterinary Clinic in Lafayette, New York.
Dr. Carter graduated from SUNY-ESF in 2014 with a Bachelors in Environmental Biology and Microscopy, with Honors, Cum Laude, after which he attended veterinary school at the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Manhattan, Kansas.  There, he kindled a strong interest for surgery, pain management, and exotic companion mammals.  His passion for Veterinary Medicine is grounded in the animal’s need for gentle care and the easing of pain and discomfort.


Dr. Carter currently lives in South Onondaga with his special needs, geriatric cat.

Lori Capparelli
Practice Manager

Lori Capparelli

Lori graduated from USC with a degree in Accounting. She has a degree in medical assisting from Central City Business Institue. She attended American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)  practice management school. Lori has been the Practice Manager of Stack Hospital for Pets since 1999. She currently resides in Canastota, NY with her husband,Joey, dog, Peter and four cats. In her spare time, Lori enjoys fostering dogs & cats, motorcycling, boating, and snowmobling.

Pat Kelly

Pat (middle) graduated SUNY Delhi in 1973. She worked as a Technician in Auburn, NY until 1977. Pat then joined the Stack team in November of 1977. She currently resides in Syracuse, NY with her 3 cats and two dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys trying new restaurants and wine tasting.

 

 

Tree McCormick
Licensed Veterinary Technician

Tree  McCormick

Tree is a graduate of SUNY Canton, class of 2008. She joined our team in 2014, and currently resides in Baldwinsville. She lives with her husband, 3 children, 4 dogs, 4 cats and one very old fish. In her spare time, she likes to read, garden and take long walks with her dogs. Tree works for Onondaga County at their sponsered vaccine clinics as well. She has a strong special interest in veterinary dentistry and comprehensive oral health.

Heather Mohamed
Licensed Veterinary Technician

Heather  Mohamed

Heather has been a veterinary technician for the past sixteen years, graduating from Suny Canton Class of 1999. She currenetly resides in Chittenango with her husband and two active boys, two dogs Casssius and Katara, two cats Pepper & Loco and a leopard gecko Flick Lockwood. In her spare time she enjoys camping, hiking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Kaleigh Reed
Licensed Veterinary Technician

Kaleigh Reed

Kaleigh is a graduate of SUNY Canton, class of 2011. She began working as a technician less than a month after graduating, and worked in practice, including at our hospital up until moving to Florida in 2014. She moved back in December 2015, and is back to working on the Stack team! Kaleigh is especially intrested in exotics, particularly reptiles. She has 27 snakes of various species, a bearded dragon, a skink, two crested geckos, and a French bulldog named Luke Sykwalker.

Cheryl Adams
Receptionist Supervisor

Cheryl Adams

Cheryl started her career with Stack Hospital for Pets in 2007.

She has been an avid equestrian since she was 13, and competing on the hunter/ jumper circuit. Cheryl pursued a bachelors degree in Equine Business Management from Cazenovia College.

Cheryl resides in Chittenango with her boyfriend, Adam, black Labrador, Murdock, cat Ricky Bobby and horse Connie. In her free time she enjoys spending time at the barn, bowling and gardening.  She recently started her own homemade PetCollars and Custom Pet Accessories busniess, The Maiden Hand Shoppe.
